Shadowverse: Evolve — shadowverse

Shadowverse: Evolve, also written as Shadowverse EVOLVE and abbreviated as SVE, is a physical trading card game based on Shadowverse. The first six starter decks and the first booster pack released on April 28th, 2022 in Japan. It is produced by Cygames and published by Bushiroad, producers of the trading card games Cardfight!! Vanguard, Future Card Buddyfight and Weiß Schwarz.

On December 6th, 2022, it was officially announced that the English edition of SVE would be launching in 2023.^[1] The first booster pack and six starter decks were released in English on June 30th, 2023.^[2]

Differences From Digital Shadowverse

While Shadowverse: Evolve does play very similarly to its digital counterpart, there are some notable differences, including:

SVE has only six playable classes as opposed to digital Shadowverse's eight.
Shadowcraft and Bloodcraft are combined into the unique new class Abysscraft.
Portalcraft is not playable in SVE, with many of its cards reassigned to other classes. For example, the Portalcraft followers Strikeform Golem and Guardform Golem are Runecraft cards in SVE.
Exclusive keyword abilities such as Combo, Spellchain, Necrocharge, Sanguine, Aura, Intimidate, and Assail. (See Glossary)
Fanfare abilities activate whenever the card enters the field, not just when it's played from the hand.
Players have an Evolve Deck, which contain their evolved follower cards. The Evolve Deck can be a minimum of 0 and a maximum of 10 cards.
All players may Evolve their cards from the first turn of the game, provided they can pay the cost to do so. Evolving cards costs play points, although 1 Evolution Point card can be used to substitute 1 play point of the cost to evolve once per turn.
The player going 2nd receives 3 Evolution Point cards at the start of the game. The player going 1st receives no Evolution Point cards.
Destroyed cards do not become Shadows and instead go to the Cemetery. If an evolved follower is destroyed or banished, the evolved follower card is returned to the Evolve Deck face-up, while the unevolved follower goes to the Cemetery or Banished area.
Decks may include a minimum of 40 cards and a maximum of 50 cards, instead of needing to be 40 cards exactly.
In addition to the hand and field, each player also has an EX Area. Cards in the EX Area are visible to all players and are not considered in play or on the field, but can be played from the EX Area to the field for the specified cost.
The hand size limit for all players is 7. If a player has more than 7 cards in their hand at the end of their turn, they must discard card(s) of their choice until their hand has 7 cards.

Entry Decks

Entry Decks are starter decks sold at a less expensive price point that contain no Legendary rarity or exclusive cards, except for those found exclusively in other starter decks of the same class. Currently, Entry Decks are exclusive to the Japanese edition of the game.

Deluxe Starter Decks

Deluxe Starter Decks are products containing more than one prebuilt deck, with these decks intended to be ready for competitive play out of the box. Currently, Deluxe Starter Decks are exclusive to the Japanese edition of the game.
