Shadow is a trait for all classes exclusive to the Shadowverse anime.
Cards with this trait are dark versions of other cards or cards that are created with the power of the Tree of Woe. They are used by those possessed by Empty Shadows, as well as Eiji Ryugasaki after being empowered by the Tree of Woe and Leon Aurenche after absorbing Nexus.
Their playstyle revolves around summoning the different Shadow token followers with cards like Brand of the Morning Star or Burgeoning Void, taking advantage of their powerful abilities. Shadow versions of pre-existing cards have effects that resemble the originals, adapting to the user's deck.
