Heroic is a trait exclusive to the Swordcraft class that debuted in the anime series Shadowverse Flame and was later released in the Celestial Dragonblade expansion.
Cards with this trait often have the aesthetic of Japanese masked superheroes, such as those seen in the Super Sentai and Power Rangers franchises.
The Heroic playstyle revolves around gaining benefits from having damaged allied followers in play, mainly to restore play points and reduce the cost of followers to play as many Heroic cards as possible.
